Fiction For Your Friday: "Ghosts" by Lee Ann Sontheimer Murphy

Some months ago I submitted a short story titled "Ghosts" to Melody Beattie's ongoing fiction contest. My story was even awarded a honorable mention along with a small cash award. Since the wheels of time move more slowly in the publishing world than in any other (or so it seems to we humble writers), the money didn't arrive until October and the story, long promised to be posted on Melody's site, is now up. The link below will take anyone interested in reading it directly to it.

If you're not out shopping on "Black Friday" or recovering from the after effects of a Thanksgiving Day feast, you might enjoy delving into a fantasy world for a space of time.

One note: I apologize for the formatting. The story, as I wrote it, used italics to seperate past events from present action. As posted, the italics have vanished leaving the story to make transition in a far from smooth fashion. Readers, be aware that the narrator speaks in present tense while the blocks of story that involve Katy's family are in the past. I don't think the current presentation makes that clear so I am trying to do so!

Enjoy the story!
